Description
We’re a marketing agency of strategists, advertising creatives and communications experts. Together, we come up with ideas, powered by behavioural science, that grow businesses and improve the lives of consumers.
Big Cat teamed up with PR and social media legends spottydog communications earlier this year. Together, we’ve formed one of the Midlands’ biggest agencies, offering clients a full-service marketing communications solution.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across the marcomms mix, so we’re open to candidates with experience and interest in any of the following areas:
- PR
- Social media
- Digital marketing
- Advertising
- Content creation
Being proactive is at the heart of what we do, and we're looking for candidates who can take initiative, anticipate needs, and drive positive change. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a never-give-up attitude, and are driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our team.
Depending on your experience, we are offering this role as a full-time role or a three-month internship, with the opportunity to extend this to a full-time role.
The Role
We work with a range of clients to support and lead on B2B communications, from leading infrastructure giants to cutting-edge tech brands.
As an Account Executive, you’ll be a fundamental part of the team, working on the delivery of client activity across a set of retained and project-based clients.
The scope of this work may encompass a variety of service areas, including media relations, influencer outreach, copywriting, event management, social media content planning, social media management, social media customer service, advertising, digital marketing, stakeholder communications, editorial planning, e-communications and website content management.
Common to all aspects of the role will be the requirement to demonstrate excellent copywriting and editing skills, research skills, problem solving and initiative.
Juggling multiple clients and working in an evolving media landscape will mean you’ll need great time management and personal organisation skills to help you meet tight deadlines, deal with unexpected tasks and new priorities.
To manage this challenge, you’ll need to actively work with more senior colleagues to reprioritise based on commercial considerations to balance client demands with our own business needs.

Our culture
Maintaining our vibrant workplace culture, as well as fostering an environment to support learning and development, means we come together as a team to operate from our Birmingham city centre workspace on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with the option of remote working outside of our core days.
With a pet-friendly office, you’ll need to like dogs or our office dogs (Lily and Lottie) will be upset, as will some of our lovely pet-sector clients!
We’re famous for our quarterly team social events, where we get together to have fun and let our hair down. Previous social events have seen us cruising the Birmingham canals, whipping up creative bakes, trying our hand at darts, and turning our office into our very own wellbeing centre. Check out our Instagram page (@bigcatagency and @spottydogcomms) for a behind-the-scenes look at what we get up to!
We’re committed to supporting learning opportunities and continuous professional development, supported by our membership with leading bodies IPA and CIPR.
We also offer a great package, with extras such as 3% match pension, 24 days holiday together with up to five additional days offered for family care. The salary will be equivalent to the level of experience you have and will range from £20,000-£26,000.
