We’re delighted to announce that following a competitive pitch process, Big Cat has been appointed by national charity, Aspire for their unique Channel Swim fundraising event which takes place between September and December this year. We are proud to have already worked across a wide range of charities and healthcare projects, so we’re really looking forward to working for a cause which we are so passionate about.

Aspire helps to provide support for those who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury, currently offering guidance and care to over 40,000 people across the UK.

As part of their fundraising programme, Aspire has created the ‘Channel Swim’, which will see participants swim 22 miles – the equivalent of the entire stretch of the English Channel – over a 12 week period in leisure centres all across the UK.

We have been engaged to deliver a fully integrated marketing communications program which will help to not only increase fundraising, but also to increase the number of participants and engagement at this year’s event.

Our MD, Anthony Tattum had this to say, “We are delighted to have been set the challenge of working alongside Aspire to increase its profile and ensure that the public are aware of this fantastic campaign and the reason behind it.

“Here at Big Cat we are passionate about working with brands which make a difference and create a positive impact on people’s lives. Aspire continue to make an enormous contribution to helping those with spinal cord injuries in this country, so to be asked to work with them is a real honour and one we very much look forward to.”

With an immediate start, we’ll be engaging a celebrity brand ambassador for the Aspire Channel Swim, along with leading in the creative production of a compelling video which will be used to inspire participants to take up the challenge.

In addition, the campaign will see a brand identity makeover that will be utilised across print and digital ads while also generating a search strategy to focus on improving SEO for Aspire.

Aspire Fundraising Event Manager Katy Boyd said, “We are really excited to be working with Big Cat. They have the ability to create stand-out creative communications work that delivers results. Every eight hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury in society and these people are often misunderstood. However, we believe that with Big Cat’s help, we can drive a real shift in how people understand spinal cord injuries, and channel more funding into supporting those who are paralysed and using wheelchairs.”

An exciting partnership has been formed; it’s now time for the hard work and creativity to begin. Watch this space!
