It's a new year and we have some new faces, this week meet our new Communications Account Manager, Sophie Haigh
I love working in a creative agency because… it allows me to write, which is a big passion of mine, and enables me to bring the ideas that swim around my head to life in the form of campaigns and stories.
I find most of my inspiration from…when I get out and about. I could be walking up the Lickey Hills or sitting in a bar when an idea suddenly springs to mind. I also like to read The Drum, Marketing Week or scroll through Twitter to find out what’s going on in the industry.
My most memorable work moment has to be…. interviewing Unreported World reporter and The Guardian columnist, Jenny Kleeman, about reporting from conflict zones, including Liberia and Afghanistan. It made me realise the dangers that some journalists will put themselves in to obtain news and keep us informed.
The biggest thing I’ve learnt so far is…‘fail to prepare, prepare to fail’. It’s a motto I live by – whether it’s making notes, planning a journey or carrying out research on a client’s competitors. I couldn’t blag my way through life.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given… is: ‘only you have the power to change your life’. Simple but spot on.
If I wasn’t a Big Cat I’d be…an Interior Designer… Or a food critic!
After work you’ll find me…sitting in one of my favourite pubs with friends with a burger in one hand and a glass of red in the other.
