This week, meet our Communications Account Executive, Katie Hurst.
I love working in a creative agency because…it provides greater freedom for both the Pride and our clients to tell the right kind of story in the most innovative and eye-catching way possible.
I find most of my inspiration from… listening. You never know what you’re going to hear that will influence a campaign or an idea through the wonderful world of conversation.
My most memorable work moment has to be… attending the US/Scottish Consulate meeting in Edinburgh. I was fortunate enough to network with a variety of Scotland’s top personnel on my very first day of an internship; plus the sun was shining!!
The biggest thing I’ve learnt so far is… to use your initiative. Trusting your instincts is something every young employee has to learn at one point or another, but once you start believing in your work, team and self, all sorts of remarkable achievements can be accomplished.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is… never stop learning. Even when you think you’ve learned it all, there is always more to take on-board to grow in this ever-changing world.
If I wasn’t at Big Cat I would be… a singer. I’ve always loved to sing the blues and jazz and hope to maintain this passion as long as possible!
After work you’ll find me… cooking up a storm, trying some new weird and wonderful recipe I’ve recently found.
